The very first time I donned a wedding gown was for a photoshoot workshop organised by BryanJean Photography several years ago... and it was an Amanda Lee gown!
Ever since, I've worn Amanda Lee Couture for milestone performances, and decided that on my big day it would have to be Amanda Lee's creation!
She is a true artist, and carries with her an air of class that is endearing and easygoing. She always seems to be wrapped in an aura of chill - no matter how busy she was, with her trunk shows in New York or year-end wedding season madness - she was always at ease.
I respect her art, and left her to decide what she felt suited me. She also really appreciated the chance to do whatever she liked for me, and was inspired to create something different, off the beaten path, as most brides just wanted beautiful, and SAFE.
We eventually went with an Art Decor theme which she loved - and this inspired my overall wedding theme in the end!
We had 2-3 sessions of draping and fitting, and the details and linings were slowly added over the next 5 sessions or so! At our countless meetings, she was never hurried, she would take her time and ponder, always thinking of what to add ontoor take away from the gown.
At our final few fittings, she added a dramatic train that I was a little unsure of initially, but it turned out to be perfect for a grand entrance!
